John Foxe (1516/17 – 18 de abril de 1587) fue un historiador y martirólogo inglés, autor de *Actes and Monuments* (conocida popularmente como *El libro de los mártires de Foxe*), un relato de los mártires cristianos a lo largo de la historia de Occidente. Sin embargo, su énfasis recae en los padecimientos de los protestantes ingleses y de los precursores del protestantismo desde el siglo XIV hasta el reinado de María I.
Ampliamente poseído y leído por los puritanos ingleses, el libro contribuyó a moldear la opinión popular británica sobre la Iglesia católica durante varios siglos.
