Isaac Barrow

Isaac Barrow était un théologien chrétien et mathématicien anglais, généralement reconnu pour son rôle précurseur dans le développement du calcul infinitésimal, et tout particulièrement pour sa découverte du théorème fondamental de l'analyse. Ses travaux étaient centrés sur les propriétés de la tangente, et il fut le premier à calculer les tangentes de la courbe kappa. Isaac Newton compta parmi ses élèves avant de développer le calcul infinitésimal sous une forme moderne. Le cratère lunaire Barrow a été nommé en son honneur.
