BookSense

Terms

Last updated: October 6, 2026

These terms cover using BookSense and, above all, the reviews readers make public on it. Using the site means you accept them.

The picks

  • Book picks are written by AI and checked against Open Library where possible. They can still be wrong, so check a book before you buy it.
  • Buy links go to Amazon. As an Amazon Associate, BookSense earns from qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you.
  • The site is free and offered as it is, without promises that it will always be available or correct.

Your account

  • You sign in with Google. You can delete your account, and everything saved with it, at any time from your profile.
  • Use the site for your own reading, not to scrape it, overload it or get around its limits.

Public reviews

Reviews are private until you make one public. A public review shows your chosen name, your score and your review to anyone, and search engines can find it.

  • Write about the book, in your own words. You are responsible for what you post.
  • Don't post: spam, ads or links; hateful, abusive, threatening or sexually explicit content; anyone's personal information; text copied from someone else; big spoilers without a warning; or anything illegal.
  • You keep ownership of your reviews. By making one public, you let BookSense show it on the site, in link previews and in search results, until you make it private or delete it.

Reports and removal

  • New reviewers' reviews are checked before they go live.
  • Anyone can report a public review with the Report link under it. Reports are anonymous and are read by the site's admin.
  • When 3 different readers report a review, it comes down until it has been checked.
  • We may hide any review that breaks these terms.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date above shows the latest version, and big changes will be noted on the site.
