BookSense

AI book recommendations

Tell BookSense a book or author you loved. Its AI reads what makes it special and picks four books to read next, each with a short reason why. It's free and you don't need an account.

How it works

  1. 1

    Name what you loved

Type a book or an author. Add up to ten to blend their tastes, like a fantasy you loved and a mystery you couldn't put down.

  2. 2

    Get four picks

The AI suggests four books, each with a one-line reason tied to what you named. Every pick is checked against Open Library, so they're real books with real covers.

  3. 3

    Refine or start again

Ask for something shorter, darker, newer or less known, or turn on Hidden gems. Not for you? Ask for four others.

Questions

›Is it free?

Yes. Searching is free and needs no account. BookSense earns a small commission if you buy through its Amazon links, at no extra cost to you.

›How does the AI choose books?

It looks at the themes, tone, setting and style of what you named and suggests books that share them. Each pick is then looked up on Open Library, and anything it can't confirm is left out.

›Can I get recommendations from several books at once?

Yes. Add up to ten books or authors and the picks will draw on all of them.

›Can it suggest less famous books?

Turn on Hidden gems for lesser-known books, at most one bestseller in four.

›Can it use what I've already read?

Sign in with Google, import your Goodreads library or add books in My books, and Picks for me suggests books based on your shelf and scores. Books you've read are never suggested.

›Which languages does it work in?

English, Spanish and French, with picks of books available in that language.
